The Bible is proven to be verbally inspired by God through the fulfillment of numerous prophecies throughout history. This includes Cyrus the Great becoming ruler of nations and freeing the captive people of God (Isaiah 44, 45); the rebuilding of Jerusalem and its temple (Isaiah 45); the destruction of Tyre and its transformation into a desolate place (Ezekiel 26); and over 300 prophecies concerning the birth and ministry of Jesus Christ, including his birth from a virgin, his lineage in the tribe of Judah, his betrayal by a friend (Psalm 41), his death by crucifixion (Psalm 22), and his resurrection from the dead (Psalm 16:10). The Bible’s accuracy extends to even the smallest details, such as the Causeway built on the ruins of ancient Tyre remaining barren to this day (Ezekiel 26). These fulfilled prophecies provide compelling evidence of the Bible’s divine inspiration and its reliability as a guide for life and salvation. Our study of this topic begins in Matthew 5:17-19.
