When we hear the word perfect, we often think of perfection. Yet another aspect is completeness. As God works to perfect, or complete, His child, He’s helping us to grow in different ways. Our sin nature desires to pull us from this and causes us to want to do things our own way, yet God continues to draw. In 1 Samuel 8:1-9 we read how even a prophet like Samuel had a problem conveying the way of the Lord to his kids – we should take comfort in that, yet also heed the warning as we seek to walk in the way of the Lord and teach others how to be complete with God!
