When Paul wrote the the church of Thessalonica in 1 Thessalonians 1:1-2:13, he lauded them for the example they were. As we think about our church, are we being an example to those around us? Are we a faithful church that strives to do the work of Christ?

Jesus warns us over and over again about deception. In Matthew 24:4-6, 11, 24 we see some of these warnings to us. Christ reminds us that we must cling to the truth and be so familiar with God’s Word that we easily recognize things that would lead us from the truth of God.
The good testimony of a disciple will be on that pleases God. In Hebrews 11:5-7, we see this testimony in Enoch, who pleased God and walked with Him. As we think about our testimony today, are we working to please God or men?

As we continue our study on being a disciple of Christ, we see through Luke 9:23-24 that a disciple is to be set apart. Disciples must be surrendered to Christ and allowing Him to control their lives as a living sacrifice.
